Salmonella Newport Bacterial Extract became the first federally licensed vaccine using SRP® Technology in November, 2004. This vaccine is exclusively marketed and distributed in the US by AgriLabs through a nationwide network of AgriLabs member distributors. The current USDA license is conditional, and at this time sales are limited to licensed veterinarians only.

INDICATIONS: For use in healthy cattle six
months of age or older as an aid in the control of
disease and fecal shedding caused by infection
with Salmonella Newport.
COMPOSITION: This vaccine contains a bacterial
extract derived from S. Newport, comprised
of purified Siderophore Receptor and
Porin (SRP®) proteins, in an oil-based adjuvant.
Contains formaldehyde and polymyxin-B as
preservatives.
DIRECTIONS: Shake well before use.
Administer 2 mL (1 dose) subcutaneously ahead
of the shoulder. Revaccinate in 2 to 4 weeks. Dry
cows and bred heifers should be vaccinated
twice before calving; whole herd vaccination may
be done at any stage of lactation as an aid to
control salmonellosis. Revaccinate annually.
CAUTION: Store at 35° to 45° F (2° to 7°C).
DO NOT FREEZE. Use entire contents when
first opened. Do not vaccinate within 60 days of
slaughter. Transient swelling may occur at the
injection site. In the case of anaphylactoid reactions,
administer epinephrine immediately.
Contains an emulsified adjuvant; in case of self injection,
seek immediate medical attention.
The product license is conditional. Efficacy and
potency test studies in progress.
