Daryll Emery, MS, Ph.D., is Chief Science Officer and Director of Discovery at Epitopix, and is co-inventor of SRP® Technology. He received his doctorate in Veterinary Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine, where his research included development of various bacterial and viral vaccines for poultry and livestock. Dr. Emery's expertise in diagnostic and industrial microbiology, immunological laboratory techniques, and protein chemistry has led to many practical vaccine discoveries. He is the inventor and has authored over 20 U.S. and international patents relating to vaccine development, and is the author or co-author of over 40 peer-reviewed articles relating to veterinary vaccines.
Darren Straub, MS, is the Director of Research and Product Development at Epitopix, and is co-inventor of SRP® Technology. He received his Master of Science in Veterinary Microbiology from the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine, where his thesis led to a commercializable patent for the extraction of immunoglobulins from egg yolk. Straub's expertise includes commercial scale protein separation and purification, tissue culture and fermentation techniques, diagnostic immunology, and food microbiology. He obtained a USDA establishment license for Epitopix, and USDA product licenses for viral, bacterial and protein extract vaccines. He appears as co-author of numerous U.S. and international patents and has presented his poultry vaccine research in several professional veterinary conferences.
James Sandstrom, DVM, is the General Manager of Epitopix and Director of Sales and Marketing. He received his veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine, and is a diplomate in the American College of Poultry Veterinarians. His professional background includes: private practice for dairy and small animal medicine and surgery; V.P. Marketing, Nicholas Turkey Breeding Farms; Manager of Technical Marketing for Global Feed Additives, Hoechst Roussel Vet; and Swine Business Unit Manager, Intervet.
